Agrifest 2026: Molini Pivetti’s wheat festival celebrates a decade of the supply chain - Molini Pivetti

The site of the historic mill in Renazzo, in the province of Ferrara, was transformed for a day into a festive square: over 60 farmers, freshly baked pizza, live music and an awards ceremony for the key players in the Campi Protetti Pivetti certified supply chain.

Renazzo (FE), 9 July 2026-Molini Pivetti opened the doors of its headquarters in Renazzo (FE) for Agrifest 2026, the annual festival that marks the end of the wheat harvest and which this year took on special significance: the tenth anniversary of Campi Protetti Pivetti, the certified supply chain that is the pride of the region.
The event took place on 7 July, with over 60 farmers in attendance, alongside staff, agronomists, suppliers and industry professionals, as well as the Pivetti family. The company headquarters was transformed into a lively little square: pizza freshly baked by Molini Pivetti’s technicians, beer, desserts and live music provided the backdrop to the evening, alongside a reading of the ‘zirudela’ – the traditional playful rhyming poem – written and recited in dialect by one of the youngest farmers in the supply chain.
The highlight of the festival was the awards ceremony for the farmers in the Campi Protetti Pivetti supply chain, who were presented with a commemorative medal in recognition of their involvement in a project launched in 2016 to offer products whose origin and quality are traceable at every stage of production. Three awards were presented: the Quality Award and the Supply Chain Award, both awarded to the Pascolone farm, which took first place, and the Loyalty Award to Vezzani Serse, who secured a place on the podium for their long-standing relationship with the mill and for having believed in and contributed to the project even before it began.
Campi Protetti Pivetti is the most advanced agri-food innovation project in the region. For ten years, it has brought farmers together under a rigorous set of guidelines that guarantee quality and protection in the selection and cultivation of cereals. It was the first supply chain to be certified by the international body CSQA and, under the Campi Protetti Pivetti Sostenibile label, part of it is now recognised and certified as ‘sustainable’. This work has given rise to the Gran Riserva and Da Agricoltura Sostenibile ranges of 100% Emilian flours.
The project is based on an ongoing relationship between the farmers and Molini Pivetti’s agronomists, as well as technical partners such as xFarm Technologies, which ensures real-time monitoring and traceability at every stage of the farming process; whilst the collaboration with Yara Italia has introduced advanced fertilisation practices, thanks to a bespoke nutritional plan for soft wheat.
For this latest wheat harvest, Campi Protetti Pivetti worked with 40 certified farms, covering a total of 1,200 hectares of monitored wheat and 9,000 tonnes of wheat delivered to the mill, thereby strengthening its ties with farmers.
The 2026 wheat harvest has been described as an excellent year: strong wheat with a good protein content, good nutrient uptake and stability, and virtually zero levels of mycotoxins (DON). ‘The quality of the wheat is decidedly superior, both from a health and hygiene perspective, due to the low levels of mycotoxins (DON), and in terms of specific gravity, with protein content varying according to soil characteristics and sowing time, but still very good. We are satisfied,’ said Alessandro Zucchi, agronomist and head of supply chain projects at Molini Pivetti.
The Campi Protetti Pivetti brand is now a guarantee of the absolute healthiness of 100% Emilian grains, selected and grown in the provinces of Bologna, Modena and Ferrara. With an approach rooted in ethical principles and focused on quality and respect for the environment, Molini Pivetti will continue to invest in the best technologies, looking to the future of Campi Protetti Pivetti with the aim of continuing to cultivate, together with local farmers, a model of a short, controlled and increasingly sustainable supply chain.
